The Rose

The Kappa Alpha Rose is a highly revered position.  The Rose is a well-respected woman that greatly contributes to the chapter in character and care.  The Rose is chosen annually by chapter and she is named on the last night of Old South.

2008-2009 Kappa Alpha Rose- Mary Dexter
The Gentleman of the Alpha Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order are proud to have Mary Dexter act as the rose for the 2008-2009 school year.  Mary Dexter is an art major here at William Jewell College and is a part of the Delta Zeta Sorority.  Her boyfriend, Jared Mathes, is a lucky man because Mary epitomizes a KA Rose!

2007-2008 Kappa Alpha Rose - Jessica Sudduth

The 2007-2008 Rose is Jessica Sudduth.  Jessica is a very kind and sweet young woman who can always be seen wearing a smile.  After learning she was the new Rose at Old South, Jessica had already began to plan what she wanted to do for the chapter.  Crowned as the Rose for less than a week, she had already made every single member in the house cookies, with their names on them, during finals week.

"I am extremely pleased to have received the honor of being chosen as the Kappa Alpha Rose for the upcoming school year. I am a junior nursing major from Blue Springs, Missouri. On campus, I am a member of both Delta Zeta Sorority and the Student Nurses Association. I am also very excited about my recent engagement to senior Kappa Alpha, Ryan Cline! Since beginning at Jewell, our relationship has provided great opportunities for both meeting and becoming good friends with the many different members of the fraternity. I am so fortunate, as the Rose, to have been given the chance to support the men of Kappa Alpha in such a personal and special way. I feel proud to have this association with KA, as they are a Greek organization of true gentlemen. The ability of these men to incorporate and uphold their Southern ideals with social and academic responsibilities has brought much success to their organization at William Jewell, and has given me such respect for who they are and that which they represent. Getting to know the KA’s through my time at Jewell, I have really enjoyed so many fun and memorable experiences that make me truly grateful to be the Rose and eager to begin some great surprises and treats for these wonderful guys!!!"
